Our good deeds are good – they make the world a better place to live in, and God appreciates them and is proud of them, but don’t make the mistake of trusting in them for your salvation or think that they somehow make you more righteous than you already are in Jesus. Thinking that you can earn God’s salvation and favor diminishes and changes your relationship with Him into a transactional based one where God somehow owes you for what you’ve done. It’s really unhealthy and really unbiblical and it sucks the joy and fun out of the abundant life Jesus promises you.
